Hot pigs

What's going on with this weather?

Normally at this time of year it's beginning to cool down, we are confined to barracks as another winter draws in, talk turns to snow and ice and mummy starts considering switching the heating on while at the same time moaning about the price of gas bill. The Christmas tree will soon be making it's appearance providing us with a massive toy to wreck.  Couple of years ago me and my previous flat mate Prince Harry spectacularly destroyed mummies friends Christmas tree by hauling all the tinsel off it! She offered to look after us while mummy went in holiday, we rewarded her by wrecking her Christmas tree an seriously anniying K's husband who couldn't stand us in the first place.  That taught him for calling us "stinking little rats".

I believe K herself got rid of most of her piggies when she got bored of them and "replaced" them with a dog. She also got rid of mummy as her friend when mummy refused to drive 70 miles in appalling snowy conditions to drop K's piggies off at a rescue. K said she couldn't do it because she had a bad tummy, so she expected mummy to do it instead. Two days after mummy had been discharged from hospital having been admitted with her asthma and a chest infection. Poor mummy was still very poorly when she came back home. Some people need to sort their attitude out, pets are your responsibilty you can't just dump them on someone else when you get bored or something better comes along.

Anyway I digress, it's boiling, we can't be bothered to move. I can't ever remember having "garden time" in October but, garden time we are having. Well not right now as it's still dark outside and our wee paws are incapable of holding a torch. The new chap is a real sunworshipper, he loves filling his belly with fresh grass. Not so keen on being lathered with Sun factor 50 though, oh the joys of having fur!!  I saw him yesterday in his way out full of protest as mummy tried not to get Sun lotion on her posh frock. Mind there are disadvantages to wearing a fur coat when it's 77f outside.

Last week we had a very special person to visit us. Great-grandma. Though mummy gave strict instructions, no extra veg she still found ways to treat us including grapes. Caspian saw fit to bang his dish in protest because he was only given 2 grapes. He's got some attitude that lad, I'll give him that.

We were given lots of extra love and attention, not that we don't get lots normally a bit extra never goes a miss. Great-granny gave us "floor time" while mummy was out and didn't know that the kitchen door needed to be blocked. Mummy had a slight panic when she discovered a bag of spuds had been raided and it's contents munched on by Sparky as they are poisonous to us piggies. But thanks to the wonders of modern technology and Facebook she was able to get some advice from the vet and all is well.

Floor time is also a great time to wind up Tommy downstairs we sit there chattering at him and winding him up, knowing full well he's getting more and more annoyed and aggressive and can't do nothing about it, trapped as he is behind his cage bars, which when he's really annoyed he bangs and clatters out of sheer frustration. Mummy normally intervenes by this point and spoils our fun but it works everytime. Well we have to get back at him somehow for kicking Sparkies head in when he just wanted to be his pal. Yes it was years ago but we don't seem to be able to operate "forgive and forget" in this cage.

So we are having a busy and pretty exciting time her, Great-Grandma is away back home now, we miss her. But we are planning garden today, yummy fresh grass call along with the sunshine on our backs. Sadly possibly for the last time this year this weather is not going to last, I can't see us sunbathing on Christmas day.But still, look on the bright side of things. The planned destruction of the Christmas tree will keep us entertained.

Love Sparky and Scampy-Joe
